Now in his fifth year, Troy Director of Athletics Brent Jones has led Troy Athletics to new heights as the 2022-23 athletic year marked the most competitive year ever for Troy Athletics in the Division I era as six teams made the postseason (football, baseball, men’s golf, men’s and women’s track & field and volleyball), 10 of Troy’s 11 sports who compete in head-to-head competition posted winning records, Troy Football finished the season ranked No. 19 in the AP Top 25 and Troy Baseball finished 35th in RPI.
Additionally, Troy recorded the most community service hours in department history, established the second highest GPA in school history, set all-time revenue records in the form of the most development dollars ever raised in athletics history, most licensing and merchandise revenue ever recorded, the highest corporate sponsorship year and most ticketing revenue in football, basketball and baseball.
Troy Athletics set several attendance and ticket sales records, including having over 12,000 total football season tickets, selling out Veterans Memorial Stadium (30,402) for the first time in program history, and setting all-time attendance records in football and basketball.
In addition, Troy and TCU were the only two schools during the athletic year to win at least 12 football games, 20 men’s basketball games and 40 baseball games.
